Barry M Lip Paint - 147 Peachy Pink

Price: 4.5 pounds
Purchased from: ASOS.com

I had gone online to look for swatches before I bought it, but it is still different from what I expected. Though this shade is called 'Peachy Pink', I would rather describe it as a pastel/light salmon peach which I can barely notice there is any element of pink.

Formula of this lip paint is not remarkable. It is quite dry and accentuates your lip lines, so moisturizing your lips is a must prior to application. It is also tricky what lip balm you use. I found that using lip balm with high oil/vaseline content makes the lip paint appeal thick and a bit patchy on lips (make sense to anyone?), which I have the same problem with NYX round lipsticks. Hence, choosing a right lip balm definitely helps. Pigmentation of the lip paint is great though :)! Longevity is never my concern and I always prepare to re-apply lip products throughout the day.

I only have a few orange tone lip products, I quite enjoy using this lip paint and would recommend it, considering the price is affordable and pigmentation is fantastic.

I hate GlossyBox .\_/. not dislike but HATE!

Carmex, Elf, nail file, proactiv cleanser sample, an unknown brand lip balm

Sheer cover lip color and a moisturizer sample, nivea sample, ultraceuticals moisturizer sample, kosmea cleanser sample

Things I dislike

Product I received:
What I received in the last three months were nivea sample, auscreen sample, elf (from $1 line in the US), nail file, carmex etc, which are basically all drugstore brands. I know very few lucky people received bobbi brown and estee lauder samples but most people did not :/ I just don't think it offers much value.

Delivery:
Every time I was the last group to receive glossybox. Endless waiting. Meanwhile, I remember in my first subscription, Glossybox sent me five/six tracking numbers but in fact none of those were actually related to my parcel. No tracking number was provided for my January and February glossybox :/

Little card:
Every box comes with a card introducing products included in the box. Once they put a wrong card which was not about products in my box). Also, I noticed couple spelling mistakes on the february card :/

Things I hate

Missed out my order:
GlossyBox said they would send all beauty boxes earlier in February in order for subscribers to receive their boxes before valentine's day. I was waiting for a week and still didnt get any my parcel/ tracking number. I emailed Glossybox and their reply was that they mistakenly put my information in a wrong file blahblahblah. Saved some BS, they just forgot to/didnt send my glossybox out.
I asked for a refund instead (it was 17Feb already and I was the last on earth who still hadnt received the subscription), they just emailed back real late and said they had just sent it out :/ WTF

Same product:
If you read my post before, you might know I dislike the carmex lip balm from december glossybox. It really bugged me when I received the same product is in february glossybox, Again :/ SUCKS

Basically my experience of subscribing Glossybox is really unpleasant, I genuinely do not recommend this subscription service provider :/
It is great if you received decent products and enjoy your Glossybox. But in the past three months, all I felt was disappointment and I  will not subscribe Glossybox again.

Post-Christmas Sales - Collective Haul + Makeup of the day :)

I know Christmas and boxing day is long gone, but I still wanna write this post as I love haul :D!!

These are the goodies I got on Boxing day! The first thing I did was going to LUSH!! I know Lush always has 50% for christmas collection on boxing day, but I was late and most of the reduced products were gone at the time :( Fortunately I went to two different Lush and still managed to get some stuffs!
I get Snow Fairy Set every year and for sure there is no exception this year :)

I also got a pair of leather boat flats frrom Country Road for $53!!! What a bargain!
Though they are not flattering, they are the most comfortable flats Ive tried!
I also got a little bright indigo leather belt from bardot for $5. Happy happy :)

Then I went to Inglot! I love inglot and every year it offers 15% off after christmas. I got my first eye shadow palette <3 the quality is awesome and its actually really a great value considered the price and volume of the eye shadow! I bought a red lipstick and I am going to be more adventurous on trying different makeup in 2012 :)!  Though makeup brushes were excluded from discount, I still got a blending brush since a good blending brush is very hard to find!

The next stop is Priceline!!
Im in love with Garnier Anti dark circles roll-on. Its so convenient to have concealer and moisturiser in one :D! Garnier Miracle Skin perfector is not bad, I just use it as a tinted moisturizer.
Prestige lipsticks are on sale for $4.99! I am not sure whether they are going to be discontinued but I got a back up in the shade of 'Champage'!

Revlon Precision Lash Adhesive - My favorite eyelash glue and I personally think its way better than DUO because the revlon one dries much quicker and its latex free!! Its on sale for $7 from priceline :D!! I got 3 at once. hehee

Swarovski crystal ($40) - its designed to be a christmas tree ornament , but I have no christmas tree at my apartment, so I might use it as a key ring or a pendant :)

hahaa. you are probably thinking why I post about baby wipes in my beauty blog. I actually use baby wipes to remove minor makeup and it works very well :) Got this value pack from Toy R us for $10! 240 wipes can last for a year!!

I am sooo glad the nail polishes I ordered from Ebay eventually arrived!!! I got quite a variety of pastel shades as I love light pastel colors <3 Nail Tek Foundation II is awesome! I love it <3

Freebies I received via mail! Im actually allegic to pantene hair products, but im willing to give it one more chance as this new line doesnt have silicone inside :)!

Barry M lip paint set from ASOS!

Makeup of the day
I used NARS Rajasthan eye shadow duo and Prestige Lipstick in Champage today.
I did not apply any foundation but suncreen so it caused minor light reflection in photograph :)

Okay, its bed time :) Good night everyone XOXO

I Love Purple! Wet n Wild palette - 736 Petal Pusher

Couple months ago I included this palette in a collective haul, its time to do a short review of this palette :)
It is quite uneasy to find a nice drugstore purple palette and I think this wet n wild one is pretty decent and offers a variety of purple shades :) This palette is composed by 8 eyeshadow (2 matt n other are satin/shimmery)

The packaging is fairly simple - a plastic case without mirror. But the product itself is awesome :)!
The eye shadow is not finely milled and it has quite a lot of fallout. The pigmentation is fantastic! The colors come off vibrantly and appear right as they show in pan. I used a Mac paint pot as a base and the eye shadow stayed on for a whole day without creasing!

Pro:
- affordable price (cheaper if you are in the US for sure)
- simple instruction
- great pigmentation
- able to create different purple eye looks
- good longevity if using a base or primer

Con:
- only available online unless u live in the us/canada
 - powdery
- packaging is frail, im sure itll crack if u drop it!!!

I took these photos around the christmas time.
heheee. Im a bit more tanned as I went to beach last monday. Luv summer <3

The shades I used are marked on the first photo with black stars. I blended the eye shadow quite thoroughly so the overall look is quite subtle and wearable for daily basis :)

Hope everyone is having a great day! XOXO

My December Glossy Box

Eventually I received my first Glossy Box. Equivalent to Birchbox(US/UK), Bellabox (AUS) and Lust have it (AUS), Glossy Box provides monthly subscription service on beauty product samples for AUS $14.95 a month.  After reading Tezza's blog post about her November Glossy Box, I made a subscription to Glossy Box instantly.

Somehow my Glossy Box arrived on 23th Dec which was really late and most people received theirs a week prior :( Meanwhile I received 5 to 6 tracking numbers from Glossy Box via email, yet in fact none were valid and related to my subscription :O It left me worry for a whole week :(
I had quite a high expectation. I saw some bloggers received Sally Hansen Mega Shine, Gorgeous lip pencil etc. The moment I opened mine, I experienced a slight disappointment

Let see what were in the box:
1. Auscreen SPF 30+ Everyday Lotion (15ml sample size) - a drugstore brand sunscreen, the small tube size is handy to be carried in handbag :) Sun is fierce in Australia and sun protection is a must!

2. Carmex Ultra Hydrating Lip Balm SPF 15 - another drugstore product, Carmex lip balms are well-known as giving pure hydration. I only hope this product is unscented. We'll see hahaa

3. John Frieda Frizz Ease Finishing Cream (30ml sample size)

4. Bed Head Manipulator (57ml full size) - I honestly wont use this product as I have no interest to make my hair ""spike, twist dreads or go punky"" LOL

5. Clinique Turnaround Overnight Radiance Moisturizer (7ml sample size) - Im glad to receive this product as I do enjoy using Clinique moisturizer :)

6. Clinique In-store offer for a 7 days supply of foundation sample - I went to Myer and DJ in the city, the staffs said they never saw it before and refused to redeem a sample for me :/  Fortunately, a nice guy in Chadstone Myer said the same thing but kindly gave me some sample to try out :) hahaa

7. A broken candy cane :(

----------------------------------------------------
I was kinda upset I didnt get a Sally Hansen Mega Shine, Gorgeous lip pencil or a perfume sample, instead I received two drugstore products :( I know I probably shouldnt expect to have all the good things?
I am still hesitating whether subscribe to the next month Glossy Box. For sure it is quite economical to receive products with greater values you paid for. Nonetheless, it is also a waste to pay and receive products not suitable for you.
Mmmm, dilemma

Collective Haul (II)

November was definitely a crazy month for me and school work really exhausted me.
But this semester is eventually over and its time for another haul =D

ASOS is one of my favorite sites to browse on even though its server seems quite unstable lately.
I purchased a set of stila lip glazes and also a NARS blush trio. Yeah! my first NARS product (: It includes Organsm, Albatross and Laguna which are the best selling shades of NARS. I do like the trio very much and its a really good buy.

Another purchase from ASOS - I have lower ambition this time.
RIMMEL Lasting Finish 25 hours - It is emilynoel83's favorite foundation and Im interested to know how good it is (: ! It is interesting that a majority of drugstore foundations sold in europe/asia come in glass bottle and pump but not in America, e.g. this Rimmel one, maybelline foundations etc.
Barry M Lip glosses and lip stick, the shades are beautiful and Im planning to write a blog post devoting into Barry M lip products (:

Echemist.co.uk is a website I discovered recently and I recommend it to you girls!
Even though it doesnt have a wide selection of products, delivery is highly efficient (I received my parcel in about 7 days) and gift wrapping is available for selected products.
I got my Garnier soothing toner, which is my favorite toner, a Lancome lipstick and foundation as well as a Maybelline superstay foundation. Happy happy (:

Last but not least, my little purchase from Beauty in the sky! Her business card is really lovely.
I got a Bobbi Brown Shimmer brick in Bronze as well as Guerlain eye shadow quad.

I know Black Friday and Cyber monday was just over. Happy shopping everyone (:

Collective Haul (I)

Long time no see =D hehe, I know I disappeared for  months but I actually still havent finished my exam yet *cry* I cant wait n wanna share with u what I got in a month.
(I just spent way too much and IM SOOOO BROKE now :(  haha )

yeah, I eventually got an iphone 4S. I needa be honest - Iphone is 100x better than HTC.
Better camera, shorter time to fully charge the battery, higher sensitivity in typing.
Im really happy with it n I dont think any other cellphone could attract me in short term =)!

I also had a little haul from SASA.com, I didnt get much but these stuffs actually cost me over $75 :S
Though Im never a fan of paper mask, my skin just gets a bit 'dry lately and needs some hydration. I used My beauty Diary masks before and didnt see much result, hopefully Ill have better luck with these two brands =)
And I found EOS lip balm on SASA. How exciting it is!

**EBAY TIME**
I love Ebay! Living in Australia means having little choices in products and suffering from high RRP n high tax, so Im pretty used to going on Ebay and get products with wide selection n mostly relatively low price* I just received two parcels, and more are on the way =)

let start off with the good one
Wet n Wild Color Icon 8 Eye shadows palettes

I paid US$9 for each palette and $5.5 for combined shipping. Sometime sellers on Ebay charge an exorbitant amount for shipping and its really annoying! But I know this seller didnt earn a penny from shipping coz the stamp showed the fee was actually US$6.5 which was even higher than what I paid her :S And the delivery was fast, it only took about 4 to 5 days! A+!

The palettes were securely wrapped n arrived safely. These eye shadows really conduct excellent pigmentation and I hugely love the 738 COMFORT ZONE <3 the color combination is versatile, you wont mess up even if you just pick 3 random colors n use them. I wholeheartedly recommend this seller n the palettes <3 hehe

The Bad One
From: Jenjen12jen
First, the seller was not really nice =( As I purchased multiple items, I sent an email n asked her to combine shipping fees for me (coz somehow ebay didnt adjust the shipping fee automatically). She didnt even check what I purchased n just replied quite discourteously. That didnt give me a very good impression but I thought 'I do not care about much CS as long as the products are good'.

I received some eye shadows and they are good =) But I had some issues with the lipstick
The product was listed as a brand new item but I suppose you can tell from photo it is obviously USED!!!!
Her page didnt state any return policy or information. Considering it only cost $4 plus most sellers require buyers to pay for delivery fee if exchange/ return products, I didnt ask for exchange and only left a negative feedback on Ebay.
She sent me a msg TO BLAME ME NOT ASKING FOR EXCHANGE AND LEAVING A NEGATIVE COMMENT TO DRAG DOWN HER REPUTATION.
ok, I kinda understand reputation is fairly important for sellers, then she sent me another one
"I might have chipped/ smudged it when checking it"
Thats the part really driving me nuts. I guess you wont draw the product on ur lips while checking, right? But the lipstick I received has lip lines on it? I swear to god that it had been used by sb before I received it. There is no reason for me to weaver a lie coz I have no intention to ask for refunds.
As a customer, I could have understood n accepted it if she just told me that she sent a wrong/used product to me accidentally.
I just hate to be treated as if Im making troubles n inconsiderate. Now Im sure I will never purchase anything from her in future.
